Jason Schoettler

Co-Founder and Managing Partner

I love the nuts-and-bolts of company building and am lucky to work closely with incredible founders every day to help them turn their visionary ideas into profitable companies.

Jason Schoettler is co-founder and managing partner of Calibrate Ventures, where he  invests in visionary entrepreneurs taking bold action to change the world. Prior to co-founding Calibrate Ventures, Jason was a managing director at Shea Ventures, where he spent 15 years funding, advising, and guiding disruptive companies such as Byju's (acquired Osmo), Dollar Shave Club (acquired by Unilever), Evolution Robotics (acquired by iRobot), and VictorOps (acquired by Splunk).

Jason believes that technology alone cannot solve societal problems; it takes a passionate founder with exceptional operating skills to turn a technology into a game-changing company. He spends his days working closely with founders to offer expert guidance in operations, partnerships, customer acquisition, and growth frameworks. With nearly two decades of experience helping grow technology companies from seed-to-exit, Jason’s passion is supporting the entrepreneurs of tomorrow and developing the next billion-dollar AI and automation companies set to disrupt entrenched sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, and logistics.

Jason currently sits on the boards of Calibrate portfolio companies Embodied, FarmWise, Pared, and TruckLabs. When not talking go-to-market strategy, hiring plans or unit economics, Jason can be found on adventurous road trips with his wife and three teenagers, or off-grid in the high country often with fly rod in-hand. He holds a BA in history with a concentration in public policy from the University of Notre Dame and a MBA in strategy and finance from the Drucker School of Management at Claremont Graduate University.
